Winnipeg Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck is heading back to the All-Star game, his fourth time earning the prestigious honor. The NHL announced today that the 30-year-old veteran will represent the Jets at the 2024 All-Star Weekend in Toronto, taking place Feb. 2-4.
Hellebuyck’s selection comes as no surprise. He’s currently in the midst of a stellar season, ranking among the league leaders in wins (T-2nd), goals-against average (5th), save percentage (6th), and total games played (4th). His consistent brilliance was recognized in December when he earned the NHL’s Third Star of the Month title with a phenomenal 7-0-2 record, 1.88 GAA, and .934 SV%.
This won’t be Hellebuyck’s first time under the All-Star spotlight. He previously dazzled fans in Tampa Bay (2018), St. Louis (2020), and Sunrise (2022). Notably, his exceptional 2019-20 season culminated in capturing the coveted Vezina Trophy, solidifying his position as the league’s top goaltender.
Hellebuyck’s impact on the Jets’ success is undeniable. His incredible wall-like presence has contributed to the team’s impressive defensive form, with no opponent scoring more than three goals against them since November 2nd. During this dominant stretch, Hellebuyck boasts a 14-3-2 record, including a shutout, with a 2.00 GAA and .932 SV%.
While Hellebuyck has already secured his spot, the excitement builds for the rest of the All-Star roster. Fans can help choose the remaining 12 players (8 skaters and 4 goaltenders) through the 2024 NHL® All-Star Fan Vote™ presented by MassMutual. Online voting is open at NHL.com/vote until January 11th, giving fans the power to send their favorite players to Toronto.
With alternate captains Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele already confirmed as All-Stars, the possibility of seeing additional Winnipeg representatives on the ice adds to the anticipation. So, Jets fans, cast your votes and get ready to cheer on your team’s stars as the NHL celebrates the league’s finest talents in Toronto!
